OUR METHODS

construction management

As a Construction Management, Adviser (CMa), we act as an extension of the project owner’s staff to coordinate a project’s planning, design, construction and post-construction. We collaborate with the owner and design-build team to manage a job’s quality, cost, timeline and scope, analyzing each aspect of the construction process and adjusting it accordingly to best accomplish the job.


Budget
Early in the design phase, we will develop a budget based on previous projects. If this estimate exceeds the owner’s budget, we will employ value-engineering practices to reduce the owner’s costs without diminishing the quality of work.


Bidding
Once a budget is established, the bidding process will begin. We will receive and review multiple bids from prequalified bidders. Once bidding is completed, we will present the winning bids to the owner for final approval. With the owner’s authorization, we will move forward with the best subcontractors for the job and sign all necessary legal documents to being. 


Invoices
We manage applications for payments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing. After assembling the applications, we send the owner a complete invoicing package showing all cost associated with the payment request. 


Supervision
Our own field superintendent provides on-site supervision of the day-to-day construction, maintaining daily logs and scheduling updates to keep things on track. We also submit weekly site photos and drone videos at the owner’s request.


Completion
Once a project is completed, we will collect warranty/close-out documents and distribute them to the owner. No final payments will be made until the contractors complete all documentation and commissioning. We also back the workmanship of the prime contractor with a one-year warranty, during which we will assist the owner in resolving any potential issues. At the warranty’s conclusion, we will perform a walkthrough with the owner and the contractors to review the building for any issues or concerns.

Design-Build

Clark Construction, Inc. began offering its own streamlined Design/Build delivery method in the mid-1990s. Instead of waiting until all construction documents are completed to begin construction, we assemble the engineers (civil and structural) and architect to design and develop construction documents as the project moves forward. This approach allows construction to begin earlier, helping expedite the process and complete the project as soon as possible.
